The Ferrari 512S No. 11 finished 4th overall at the 1970 24 Hours of Le Mans, driven by American racers Sam Posey and Ronnie Bucknum for the North American Racing Team (NART). Posey was a versatile American driver with extensive sports-car and Formula 1 experience, while Bucknum was a highly respected endurance racer who had competed for Honda in Formula 1 and scored strong results in American sports cars. The 512S was Ferrari’s powerful answer to the Porsche 917, featuring a lightweight tubular-steel chassis, aerodynamic bodywork, and a spectacular 5.0-liter V12 producing around 550 hp. Its long, low profile and enormous engine made it one of the fastest cars of the era, while the No. 11's NART blue-and-white livery gave it a distinctive appearance among Ferrari's predominantly red factory entries. The 512S's combination of immense V12 power, exotic engineering, and dramatic styling makes it one of the defining prototypes of the legendary 1970 endurance-racing era.
