The Ferrari 330 P3 No. 27, entered by the North American Racing Team (NART), competed in the 1966 24 Hours of Le Mans with Pedro Rodriguez and Richie Ginther. Rodriguez was one of Mexico’s greatest racing drivers, renowned for his extraordinary wet-weather ability and later becoming a Porsche endurance star, while Ginther was an accomplished American Formula 1 and sports-car racer who scored Honda’s first F1 victory in 1965. Uniquely, the No. 27 was the only open-cockpit Spider version of the three 330 P3s entered at Le Mans, giving it a distinctive appearance compared with Ferrari’s two closed-cockpit factory cars. Its advanced 4.0-liter V12 used Lucas fuel injection and produced approximately 420 hp, while the lightweight tubular chassis and sophisticated suspension helped deliver exceptional speed. The car was particularly impressive early in the race, qualifying fastest of the Ferraris and even taking the lead during the sixth hour, before retiring at 1:45 a.m. with gearbox problems.
This model is hand painted and polished to a beautiful finish and has a sealed body. Resin models are
exceptionally accurate of scale, shape and detail. Each model is created using a variety of production
processes, to achieve this precision. They are produced using a composite material referred to in the
industry as “resin”. Photo etched parts, die-cutting, tampo printing and waterslide decals are often used
for the most authentic replication
